300 and 600 Black Disciples Honor L’A Capone On 18th Birthday

It has been nearly a year since the death of aspiring Chicago rapper L’A Capone. Capone was gunned down Sept. 26, 2013 upon leaving a recording studio.

Capone’s death came a little over a week after he celebrated his 17th birthday. Capone’s mother Dedra Morris recalled baking a chocolate cake for her son. Chocolate, she told the Chicago Sun Times, was his favorite. The cake went untouched before she finally decided to throw it away.

Capone would have celebrated his 18th birthday Thursday, Sept. 18.

Ms. Morris aka Momma Capone took to social media to honor the memory of her son.

Members from the 300 & 600 Black Disciples also took to social media to honor Capone’s memory, including, Tadoe, Fredo Santana, S. Dot aka Dotarachi, 600Breezy, Tay600, Lil Reese and Lil Durk, to name a few.

Lil Herb also honored Capone on his b-day.

Three suspects have been charged in Capone’s murder.

Meiko Buchanan, 23, was charged with first-degree murder in the Sept. 26 slaying and held in lieu of $1 million bond.

Buchanan confessed to the crime while in custody awaiting trial on unrelated charges of aggravated battery of a peace officer and aggravated use of a weapon, according to the Chicago Tribune.

Michael Mays, 21, and 17-year-old Sakhee Hardy-Johnson were also charged with first-degree murder. Cook County Circuit Judge Laura Sullivan ordered Mays held on $500,000 bail and Hardy-Johnson held on $350,000 bail.

Mays and Hardy-Johnson allegedly confessed to the crime, according to the Chicago Tribune.

Buchanan’s role in the murder was driver of the “trail car,” a vehicle that follows the lead car containing the gunman, Assistant State’s Attorney Alex Molesky told the Tribune.

Buchanan allegedly said he pulled into the alley and watched the gunman sneak up on L’A and shoot him twice.

The alleged rival gang members had an ongoing dispute with Capone, Molesky said in court, according to the Tribune.

Anderson was a burgeoning rap artist whose viral hit songs include, “Play For Keeps,” “Round Here,” “Shooters,” “Murder,” “The Gat” and “So Loud.”
