Birdman’s Cash Money Artist ‘BTY YoungN’ Shot and Killed In Lil Wayne’s Hollygrove Neighborhood In New Orleans

BTY YoungN, an artist signed to Birdman’s Rich Gang/Cash Money Records, was shot and killed last night in his hometown of New Orleans.

YoungN, born Desmone Jerome, was fatally shot at a Shell gas station in Lil Wayne’s Hollygrove neighborhood. His body was found beside a gas pump. He was 27.

YoungN revealed in past interviews he had already been shot five times.

Atlanta rapper Ralo told his IG followers that Birdman confirmed YoungN’s death to him in a phone call.

Ralo posted a photo of himself with the N’awlins rapper with a caption, reading, “Every call I ever got from @birdman5star was good except this one. I can’t believe I can’t go on yo live an see you alive no moe. All I wanted to do is say not many even knew u was Muslim, but I did… I pray Allah forgive you for all yours sins, inshallah you in a better place. I can’t believe yo child gotta grow without u. #LONGLIVEBTY.”

Birdman signed YoungN to his Cash Money label in November 2016.

YoungN began making a name for himself for his eccentric lifestyle. He notably caught social media’s attention in December 2016 when he walked into an Audi dealership with a drawstring backpack full of cash.

Glenn Bell, YoungN’s cousin, was present at the crime scene. Bell told NOLA.com this isn’t the end of BTY YoungN’s rapper career.

“Rap is his career, not was,” Bell told Nola.com. “He’s going to live on.”

YoungN has a large catalog of music online. He has released numerous singles, including “Materialistic,” “Far From Over,” “It’s Whatever,” “When I Was” and more.
