Bobby Shmurda Indicted In Prison Shank Case

Bobby Shmurda was indicted on perjury, weapons possession and promoting prison contraband Thursday after prosecutors say he had his girlfriend smuggle a shank in to him during visiting hours at Rikers Island, according to the AP.

Prison guards allegedly saw Kimberly Rosseau, 18, take a “home-made knife” out of her bra and pass it to Shmurda.

Shmurda’s perjury charges reportedly came after prosecutors say the “Hot N*gga” rapper lied to a grand jury about it.

Shmurda, born Ackquille Pollard, pleaded not guilty during his arraignment. He faces up to seven years if convicted. His trial is set to begin Oct. 14.

Rosseau pleaded not guilty was arraigned Wednesday on felony and misdemeanor counts of promoting prison contraband and a misdemeanor count of criminal possession of a weapon, according to the New York Times. She was released on her own recognizance with a hearing scheduled for August.

In another much-publicized case set to begin Oct. 5, Bobby is battling multiple conspiracy counts, one count of reckless endangerment, two counts of criminal possession of a weapon and one count of criminally using drug paraphernalia. If convicted, he faces up to 25 years in prison.
