Brooklyn Rapper 22Gz Charged With Murder After Argument Over Miami Parking Spot Turns Violent

An argument over a parking space during Memorial Day weekend ended with two people dead, PIX 11 reports.

Up and coming rapper 22Gz, born Jeffrey Alexander, is accused of fatally shooting 30-year-old Ladarian Tyrell Phillips of Homestead, FL, the Miami Herald reports. The 19-year-old Brooklyn rapper has since been charged with second-degree murder with a deadly weapon and second-degree attempted murder with a deadly weapon/firearm.

The altercation occurred Monday night around 10:35 when 22Gz and three friends attempted to parallel park a white BMW. The driver of the vehicle hit a parked gold Buick Regal. Philips, the owner of the Buick and a friend confronted Gz and his friends.

The driver of the vehicle passed a gun to 22Gz who fired two to three shots, shooting Phillips in the back and his friend in the leg.

Gz and his friends fled the scene in their BMW, leading to a high-speed chase with police. The Brooklyn camp crashed to police cars during attempted escape. Miami police later fired several shots, killing one of the vehicle’s occupants.

22Gz was slated to perform in Miami Beach on Saturday, May 27.
