Celebrities Participate In Trayvon Martin Social Media Blackout

Social media users are showing their support in droves to honor slain teen Trayvon Martin.

Celebrities, too, are showing their support via social media, including Lance Gross, Kevin Hart, Meagan Good, Meek Mill and Letoya Luckett.

Supporters allege Martin, who was out picking up snacks for the All-Star basketball game, was being profiled on that rainy Feb. 26 night.

Martin, 17, was deemed suspicious by George Zimmerman who was acting as neighborhood watch.

With the defense’s closing arguments being made Friday, a verdict is imminent.

Supporters throughout social media are blacking out their AVIs in honor of the slain college bound teen.

Social media saw a similar action after many proponents of same-sex marriage changed their profile pictures to the red Human Rights campaign logo.

Zimmerman is on trial for a second-degree murder charge and could be sentenced to a minimum of 25 years without parole and a maximum of life in prison.

Judge Debra Nelson accepted the prosecution’s request of the lesser charge manslaughter, which could give Zimmerman up to a 30-year prison sentence.
