Many students are out of school today to enjoy the first day of their summer vacation. They will also be saying farewell to their buildings.
Mayor Rahm Emmanuel has initiated the second phase of the school closing initiative, which includes 19 schools, CBS 2 Chicago reports.
The city saw 28 schools close last week.
