Chief Keef’s Benefit Hologram Concert To Stream Saturday, July 25

The show will go on. FilmOn CEO Alki David took to IG to announce Chief Keef’s benefit hologram concert for baby Dillan Harris has been rescheduled to take place on Saturday, July 25 at 8 p.m. Pacific. Dillan was killed Saturday, July 11 after his stroller was struck by a car.

David also made sure to take a shot at Chicago mayor Rahm Emanuel for having Redmoon Theater cancel last week’s scheduled performance.

Chicago City Hall officials asked Redmoon Theater to cancel Chief Keef’s scheduled hologram benefit concert, according to WGN-TV

The city referred to Sosa as an “unacceptable role model” who “promotes violence,” according to ABC 7 Chicago.

David also slammed Father Michael Pfleger for “meddling” their plans to hold the concert.

“The meddling, attention seeking Father Pfleger, who bullied the owner of the downtown theater to back out of his contract, will not succeed,” David wrote in an email statement to Chicago Tribune. “He is exploiting this tragedy and taking money away from the victims and solid charities who are doing good work in Chicago.”

Debbie Saul, Redmoon’s director of marketing, emailed a statement to Chicago Sun Times that read, “Redmoon did not understand the full nature of the event. The event will not be taking place at Redmoon.”

Pfleger denied having involvement in the event’s cancelling.

“It’s ridiculous,” Pfleger said about David’s statement, according to the Tribune. “I had no contact with the venue.”

Father Michael Pfleger is one of Sosa’s biggest critics. Pfleger took to Facebook to blast the “Bang 3” rapper:

“Chief Keef has announced that he will hold a benefit concert to raise funds for his friend and the baby who were killed this past weekend….REALLY…Chief Keef is one of the reasons we have all this violence…he has been one of the encourager’s of the violence…..Instead of having a concert…why doesn’t he man up and acknowledge it’s time to stop this violence and APOLOGIZE for his part in it!!!! we don’t need a concert…we need PEACE……7 DEAD and 24 SHOT this weekend and he wants to do a concert…..Chief Keef….SHUT UP!!!!!” Pfleger’s post read.

At St. Sabina Church in front of a packed congregation, Pfleger added, “Let’s help get rid of the violence. Don’t think a concert is then going to wipe away what you do every day that supports the violence.”

Sosa issued a statement via FilmOn Networks in response to Pfleger’s comments that read, “I see the love in my son’s eyes and I know that I have changed the things I value. My cousin getting killed was the biggest lesson. I know he would want me to be a better person and do better.”
