‘F*ck Fame’ Founder Chicago King Dave Slams Spike Lee’s Movie ‘Chiraq’

Spike Lee has been under much scrutiny for filming his latest film project in Chicago and titling it “Chiraq.”

Chicago King Dave, founder of “F*ck Fame” clothing, is the latest Chicagoan to criticize the film.

“Chicago, I’m tired of us letting motherf*ckers coming here making all this f*cking money off of us,” he said. “We be booking all these weak ass artists, don’t even book our own artists. Let a motherf*cker come here make a whole movie. We got a thousand filmmakers here, man.”

“…I feel like how the f*ck we making a movie called ‘Chiraq’ and this 4-year-old girl damn near getting here brains blew out,” he continued. “Yall motherf*ckers really out there standing in line for this motherf*cking movie? You living in this sh*t. You don’t need to star in no movie, n*gga.”

Spike Lee gave his reasoning for filming the project in May during a press conference outside of Saint Sabina Church. Lee was joined by community leaders, organizers and mothers whose children were victims of gun violence. Actor John Cusack also was present at the event.

“A lot of things were said about this film by people who know nothing about the film,” Lee said. “I’m going to tell the world why this film matters.”

Lee went on to say he had to attend the funeral of a family member of one of his production team in Chicago.

Father Michael Pfleger of Saint Sabina Church was also present during the press conference saying there was a need for the influx of guns in the community.

“The reality is in the first 134 days of this year since January 1, 2015, there has been 780 shootings,” Father Pfleger said. “That’s nearly six a day being shot in Chicago. We must face the reality of guns in America where it’s easier in so many neighborhoods to get a gun than a computer. We can’t ignore this reality.”

Lee called for all to not sweep gun violence under the rug.

“Let’s not wait til the morning and keep reading about how many got shot, how many people got killed,” Lee said. “As human beings, let’s be honest, we all can get desensitized to that because it’s so much. But never to the mother or father of that statistic.”

Lee’s film is slated to hit theatres in 2016.
