Friends & Family Celebrate Lil JoJo Day

Friends and family turned out Wednesday to commemorate the life of Joseph Coleman who passed away a year prior on Sept. 4.

Coleman, who was 18 years old at the time, was gunned down in a drive-by shooting as he was riding on the back pegs of a friend’s bike.

Coleman, known to friends and family as JoJo, was an aspiring rap artist.

Many of Coleman’s closest associates took to Twitter to honor him.

Fly Boy Gang rappers Billionaire Black, Duck and Lil’ Jay were among the throng of Coleman’s closest friends who remembered him:

Coleman hailed from the 069 area in the Englewood neighborhood on Chicago’s South Side, an area associated with the Bricksquad camp.

Nothing else mattered Wednesday for the Bricksquad crew, but the memory of their friend.

P. Rico, Flip, Killa Kellz, Smylez, Kelles, Lil’ Mister and Judo Heffner honored Coleman:

Smylez posted footage of the celebration to his instagram account:

For Swagg, Wednesday officially belonged to brother JoJo whom he regarded as his twin.

Swagg additionally launched a clothing line in honor of JoJo.

“Damn a year went fast asl

“#JOJODAY MAN. ALL DA GUYS FINNA BE TTU COME FW US N TURN UP FA JOJO,” he wrote on Twitter.

Swagg and mother Robin Russell visited the cemetery to view the grave of their loved one.
