JB Bin Laden Says L’A Capone Gave Him His Rap Name

JB Bin Laden, a known protégé of Prince Dre, is stepping into the forefront of the Chicago Hip Hop scene. But rapping wasn’t even a passion of the South Side Chicago teen in the past.

JB didn’t take his craft seriously until the passing of fellow aspiring rapper L’A Capone. Capone, born Leonard Anderson, died from injuries sustained during a Sept. 26 shooting upon leaving a recording studio.

It was Capone who gave JB his rap name.

“On foenem, I ain’t even come up with my name,” JB told Hip Hops Revival. “L’A came up with my name. I wasn’t even rapping. That was my name on Instagram. It was Bin Laden.

“He gave me my rap name and I wasn’t rapping,” he continued. “So when he passed away I started rapping.”

JB appeared alongside Prince Dre in songs “Kill Or Be Killed” and “Hide N Seek.”

JB has since delivered solo effort in songs “Tolerate” and “On Dave.”
