Kanye West has issued a statement on the near fatal shooting of King Louie. Yeezy took to Twitter, writing, “Praying for my brother King Louie and his family.”
King Louie, born Louis Johnson Jr., was shot in the head in the 3900 block of West 83rd street about 3:30 p.m. in the Ashburn neighborhood, according to the Chicago Sun Times.
He was taken to Christ Medical Center In Oak Lawn where he was listed in stable condition. Louie’s manager told the Sun Times the rapper is “awake and talking.”
Newly surfaced footage shows Louie’s car riddled with bullets.
Kanye was among many Chicago rappers to send prayers for Louie. King Louie’s shooting sparked much discussion amongst his fans and Chicago’s Hip Hop community, including King Yella, Billionaire Black, Smylez, Killa Kellz and more:
