Ladanian Tomlinson, a prolific running back for the San Diego Chargers, retired Monday as a San Diego Charger from the National Football League, saying it was “it was time to move on,” The Boston Herald reports.
Tomlinson, 32, retires from the NFL as the fifth all-time leading rusher with 13, 684 career yards, third in touchdown scoring with 162 career touchdowns, and second in rushing touchdowns with 145, The Boston Herald reports.
“I knew at the end of the season that it may be a possibility that I walk away from the game. It wasn’t because I didn’t want to play anymore. It was simply time to move on. And that’s how I look at it,” Tomlinson said in a San Diego Charger Press Conference.
