Radio host Sway and his Sway In The Morning crew promised to throw a special event for Lil Bibby if he were to get his high school diploma. Bibby made good on his word after getting his GED. Sway held up his end of the deal and threw Lil Bibby a party for obtaining his high school diploma.
Bibby, holding a box of cupcakes, posed for a photo with Sway inside the SiriusXM studio. The NLMB gruff voice spitter posted the photo onto IG with a caption, reading, “S/O @realsway he’s a legend & true professional, Got a lot of respect for this guy..Best interviewer I’ve met. Watched this guy on TV since I was a kid and I see why he gets the respect that he does. Stay.”
In early April, Bibby took to IG to show off his diploma and announce his plans to college.
The “Free Crack 3” rapper wrote in his caption, “F*ck it I’m going to College #UCLA I’m Otw…. I would like to dedicate this to @Realsway @thehappyhourwhb my Moms and Gma… Knowledge is Power…. And f**k all of my teachers that ever failed me.”
Bibby also teased the idea of possibly attending Howard University, a historically black college university.
Bibby said he is going to college after he completes his “Free Crack 3” tour.

“So proud of myself… Lord knows how far that I’ve come,” the captions on his IG post read.
Bibby told a VladTV correspondent he plans to go to college to earn his doctorate.
“I’m finna go back to college, too,” Bibby said. “I’m finna get my doctorate.”
Bibby said he is interested in studying either psychology or medicine.
Radio personality Sway, who has supported Bibby’s educational endeavors, was proud of the Chi Town rapper’s accomplishments.
Sway posted a photo of Bibby holding his diploma onto his IG account with a caption, reading, “I’m so proud of @LilBibby_ for going to back to get his diploma. Education is worth more than currency. Bibby has shown so much potential and setting a great example.”
It was Sway who encouraged Bibby to accomplish that goal. Bibby took to IG and Twitter to show Sway his 4.0 GPA score from his report card.
“@RealSway Straight A’s,” he wrote on Twitter.
Sway replied to Bibby, writing, “CONGRATS! Respect. We owe you a party and meal! Proud of u bruh.”
Lil Bibby revealed to Sway and listeners on Sway In The Morning that he dropped out of school his senior year with only a credit to go.
“…I’m from the streets, so it be a whole lot going on, then when you start making that little drug money, you just look at school like ‘I’m wasting my time here,’” he said.
“That school is a waste of time to most young dudes from the streets, you know?”
Bibby revealed during an interview with Ace Almighty he attended King College Prep High School for two years where he earned bad grades.
“I went to King for two years, like my first two years I kinda got like all Fs,” he said. “It was kinda like a crazy environment for me cause it was a mixed environment like white people, Chinese people. I really didn’t fit in. I didn’t know how to associate with different type of people.”
