Lil Bibby is putting on for the Chi in a major as a member of XXL Freshman 2014 class. Bibby is only 19 and has accomplished more than many veterans in the rap game.

Bibby gave XXL an inside look into his persona during his Freshman profile. Though Bibby is a Freshman, he is not done grinding by a long shot.

“I need a new crib.Straight cash,” he said. “I need a crib for me, my momma. I need a lot of sh*t.”

Bibby also has his sights set on taking home some hardware in music award shows.

“I need a couple Grammy’s,” he said.

Lil Bibby revealed a life changing moment occurred when he attended Drake’s “Would You Like A Tour” concert in Atlanta.

“When I went to that Drake show in Atlanta, man…he filled up the whole stadium,” Bibby explained. “I wanna do some sh*t like that too…you got everybody singing yo sh*t. That sh*t feel good.”

Another life altering moment for Bibby occurred when he received one of the biggest co-signs in his life from Drake.

Drake DM’d Bibby, writing, “Streets need that TAPE! I’m waiting on it, You and Herb the future.”



Bibby posted a screenshot of the message, writing, “#FreeCrack If Drake said it then it must be true. #TheFuture”

The “Nothing Was The Same” rapper even shouted out the Bibby during an interview with Hot 97’s Angie Martinez.

“I’ve been really inspired by just some real gutter, hood music,” Drake said. “Just listening to Lil Reese ‘Savage’ mixtape…Lil Herb, Lil Bibby.”



But Bibby knows more work needs to be done if he wants to reach his peak.

“I’m still working,” he said. “I dropped my ‘Free Crack’ project, so that’s doing good. I’m working on some other sh*t called ‘The Book,’ so I think that’d be big. And hopefully just take off from there. I got a lotta sh*t planned, man.”
