Lil Bibby opened up on his creative process when recording music during an interview with 3 Little Digs. Lil Bibby prefers freestyling over writing.
“I can’t even write a song no more,” he said. “I can’t sit down and write a song no more. I freestyle everything.”
Bibby’s rap protégé Lil Herb commented freestyling is less difficult than writing.
“That sh-t actually easier though,” he said. “You’d be writing for f-cking hours.”
But Bibby says he can only freestyle his verses one at a time.
“I ain’t gon lie. I don’t one-take the sh-t. I don’t one-take freestyles,” he said. “…I be listening to that old Eminem. He one-take everything. I do my sh-t four bars at a time.”
