Lil Durk, RondoNumbaNine & Close Associates Mourn Aspiring Rapper L’A Capone’s Death



The 300 and 600 block community is mourning the loss of one if its own when aspiring rapper L’A Capone was gunned down upon leaving a recording studio Thursday evening.

L’A Capone, whose birth name is Leonard Anderson, entered an alley around 6:25 p.m. following his recording session when an unknown assailant fired several shots, striking the “Round Here” rapper in the right thigh and lower back, according to the Chicago Sun Times.

Medical personnel transported Anderson to Northwestern Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 8:30 p.m. He was 17.

Capone’s rap partner in crime RondoNumbaNine was deeply affected by his “brother’s” death. Capone and Rondo collaborated on numerous songs, including, “Play For Keeps,” “Shooters,” “Facedown,” “Grindin” and “Cannabis.”

Rondo posted several images of himself with Capone to his Instagram account with captions expressing grief over the slain “Work” rapper’s death.

Ydot Gdot, a Chicago MC, sent his condolences to rapper Edai.

Ydot Gdot sent 600 rapper his condolences “stay up bro.”

Edai replied, “u kno I am bro!!!!”



Edai and Capone hailed from the 600 neighborhood in the Englewood neighborhood on Chicago’s South Side. The collaborated on the track “Sixdouble0.”



“@LAFROM600……YO LEGACY GONE LIVE FOREVER!!!!!!” Edai wrote.



Fredo Santana honored Capone with a retweet from @TOASTTOTHEGOD, reading “RIP LA.”



Lil Durk learned about Capone’s shooting Thursday evening and wished the rapper a speedy recovering, writing, “Get well lil bro @LAFRM600.”



But the “BangBros” rapper later learned of Capone’s sad fate and later tweeted, “RIP lil bro @LAFRM600.”



Lil Durk retweeted lyric posted by Capone, reading, “MAMA TOLD EM LOOK RICH, ACT POOR N NEVA TRIP ON A BITCH DAT AIN’T YOURS#”



Lil Durk collaborate with Capone on the track “We Don’t F*ck Around.”



Only For The Real, a Chicago radio host and blogger, remembered Capone, writing, “RIP da Lil homie L’A Capone I been fucking with em since he jumped in dis music shit #RealNigga.”

“R.I.P my little homie L’A Capone. Shit got me in here feeling some type of way. Real ni**a gone too early…R.I.P that dude,” he said. “Yall know these ChIraq streets real.Yall just gotta stay stay out here. Stay positive, leave that street sh*t alone. The streets aint gon get you no where.”



Anderson, who was a burgeoning rap artist, was featured in multiple Hip Hop blogs. His viral hit songs include, “Play For Keeps,” “Round Here,” “Shooters,” “Murder,” “The Gat” and “So Loud.”

He is the 320th homicide victim in a city that is under national spotlight for its high rate of violence.
