Lil Durk Talks Quitting Lean, Young Thug Tried To Offer Him Some

Lil Durk no longer sips Lean. Durk sat down with The Fader to discuss the withdrawal symptoms he experienced kicking the cups.

“The withdrawals was crazy,” Durk said. “S****ing, stomach hurting, cold sweats. I ain’t going though that s**t no more. Stay away from Lean. No cups around me.”

Lil Durk’s close friend Fredo Santana succumbed from the effects of Lean earlier this year.

Fredo was rushed to the hospital in March 2017 for what he said was sleep deprivation and seizures.

Fredo posted a photo of himself onto IG with a caption, reading, “When u working hard no sleep u get sleep deprived an have a light seizure.”

Fredo later revealed his condition to be much more serious.

Fredo Santana admitted to fans in October that drug addiction was the reasoning behind his stay in the hospital.

Fredo told fans he was in the hospital for kidney failure and liver failure after experiencing seizures.

Fredo revealed he almost died after suffering a seizure and falling to the floor, where he bled from the mouth. Luckily, Gino Marley found him just in time. Fredo is told fans he was considering rehab to help end his addiction.

Fredo wrote he uses drugs to repress bad memories that haunt him.

He wrote, “I was running from my old life tryna get high didn’t want to face them demons.”

Fredo wanted to use his celebrity power to speak about drug addiction.
He wrote, “Hopefully I can be the face to sho n****s to slow down an we got out whole life ahead of us f**k being rock stars getting high. I got ptsd.”

Fredo got support from XXXTentacion who visited him in the hospital.

“My dog X done pulled up on me. Real n***a,” Fredo said.

Fredo revealed he was suffering from kidney failure and liver failure in his IG caption, writing, “Been in here since Friday. Doctor say a n***a kidney failure an live failure. I’m getting back to normal. Sorry to all my fans turbo bandana will not be dropping tomorrow due to my health issues. Thanks for everyone who prayed for a n***a. I wouldn’t wish this on my worse enemy.”

Fredo Santana appeared to be holding true to his word. His healthier stance caused him to lose a lot of weight. Fredo took to IG to show off his new physique, and put on emphasis on his anti-Lean stance.

“Hope y’all staying away from that Lean Ain’t no drank, man,” he said before lifting up his shirt to show his slimmed down stomach. “It’s about weed, man. Do it look like I be sipping Lean? I lost the Lean gut.”

Mozzy soon became the latest rapper to take an anti-lean stance.

“Shout out to everybody that’s been tapping in as far as a n***a slime addiction, sending positive vibes and all the ganster s**t,” he said. “We legitimate on my mama. It’s been like 10, 12 days or some s**t. It’s been hard to kick that s**t. We still bricked up though. I had a couple bricks in the closet.”

Mozzy called for his followers to kick the Lean habit as well.

“Any young n***a doing that s**t, this should influence you to stop. If it don’t, drink a lot of water at the minimum. …Fuck that cup,” Mozzy said while pouring an entire bottle of codeine-promethazine onto the ground of a local gas station. “They say health is wealth. I need my bag.”

Fredo Santana co-signed Mozzy’s stance against Lean.

Fredo wrote in Mozzy’s comment section, “I’m almost 60 days clean bro f**k dat lean s**t.”
