Lil Herb aka G Herbo Drops ‘L’s’ Music Video

Lil Herb dropped the latest visual for one of the hottest records on his “Ballin Like I’m Kobe” project. Herb provides viewers a tour of his 78th and Essex neighborhood in South Shore and details his humble beginnings.

Herb’s “L’s” is our favorite record off his project. “L’s” is an emotional record. The sample used in this C-Sick production makes this record even more somber. Herb provides listeners a vivid description of the streets and its dangers. Life in Chicago is as real as it gets.

Herb opens his verse detailing how his innocent beginnings soon turned into him becoming consumed by the streets. He raps, “13, I’m in the books, I’m playing basketball/By 16, I’m cool with crooks and letting ratchets off/But let’s rewind, go back in time, this how it happened yall/On the east side of the Chi, straight full of magnets yall/Straight full of pains, no storms and rains/Straight target practice, dog.”

Herb’s second verse gets even more somber as he names off deceased friends, including Capo and Kobe. Shockingly, this is not a complete list. Herb raps, “Long live G-Fazo, Vito, Cheeko, C-Mo, Pistol, Kobe, Rock, Blizz, Richie, white folks, cracks, playboy, yeah my broski Capo/The hurt is realm the couple of names I didn’t say I’m gone and stop/the s**t I’ve been through made me heartless/All my feelins on this glock.”

Herb’s rhymes about Capo may make your eyes sweat.

He raps, “And damn Cap, we was just ridin through the town/Smokin out the pound/30-40 down/Heard that s**t, it made me sick/I’m still fresh from out of town/If I’m comin home to that how I’m supposed to put it down? They don’t understand my struggle/They don’t care what I’ve been through.”
