Lil Herb Talks Meeting Minister Louis Farrakhan, Cites Tupac As One Of His Influences

Lil Herb was honored to attend a dinner and important meeting held at Nation of Islam’s headquarters Mosque Maryam in August. Minister Louis Farrakhan invited many of Chicago’s most important figures from the Hip Hop community to speak about the ongoing violence in the Windy City. Other artists in attendance included Fredo Santana, Lil Reese, G Count, Katie Got Bandz and King Louis, to name a few.

G Herbo revealed details of the meeting during an interview with Vlad TV.

“The Minister had called me out to his house to meet with him,” Herb told DJ Vlad. “It was really just a meeting about making our city a better place for children. For our people to be united. It’s a lot of killing going on in Chicago. The Minister’s crib is in the heart of South Side where a lot of the killing is going on. That was a big meeting. For him to call me out personally and for me to be in his presence, sitting at the same table, eat with him, that was big.

Farrakhan weighed in on the killing of college bound Ferguson teen Mike Brown by a police officer and the subsequent police militarization of the town in his address. Farrakhan also predicted a similar situation of police militarization is likely to occur in Chicago.

Farrakhan regarded some of his attendees as “some of the finest minds in Chicago.” But the religious leader feared they would be the “target of a wicked conspiracy” in America.

“I warn you that something terrible is about to go down and Ferguson is a sign,” he said. “The killing of Michael Brown is one of many. …Every city and town where black people live, black men are being shot down by police.”

Lil Herb also revealed he is a big fan of fallen Hip Hop icon Tupac.

“I’m a big Tupac fan. I listen to Tupac,” he said. That’s rare for my age group. I’m only 19. Tupac passed away in ’96, ’97? I was probably one.”
