Many of today’s rap artists have drawn inspiration from Lil Wayne. Unfortunately, Weezy doesn’t know who some of this generation’s rappers are.
Weezy asked his thoughts on XXL Freshman 2016 rappers 21 Savage, Lil Yachty, Lil Uzi Vert and Kodak Black during an interview with The New York Times.
“I swear to God I didn’t know you were saying people’s name just now, so that should probably answer that question,” Tunechi said. “I just do my own thing.”
Weezy spoke with NYT about his new memoir “Gone ‘Til November,” which details his 8-month prison stint for gun charges on Rikers Island in 2010. The New York Post obtained an advance copy of Tunechi’s book “Gone ‘Til November: A Journal of Rikers Island” where he reveals some interesting things about his time in the pen.
Weezy is reported to have playfully married off two other male inmates in prison. He hung toilet paper for decorations and toasted the ceremony with 13 bottles of Gatorade.
“Gatorade is liquid gold in this bitch,” he writes. “Imagine seeing grown-ass men in jail hanging tissue for wedding decorations. AND one of them is Lil Wayne. Crazy.”
