Migos Compare Miami Bus Shooting To Fourth of July



Offset, Takeoff and Quavo of Migos nearly lost their lives when their bus was targeted in a March 2014 shooting incident. The shooting occurred on a Miami highway following a cancelled performance at nightclub Café Iguana early Friday morning.

Migos’ eight-man entourage were traveling on I-95 when a black vehicle pulled alongside and opened fire, riddling the bus with bullets, according to the Miami Herald. A member of Migos’ crew on the bus returned fire at the vehicle.

One person on the bus was struck in the leg and transported to Jackson Memorial Hospital with non-life threatening injuries, according to NBC 6.

Quavo and Takeoff of the Migos made an appearance on ESPN’s Highly Questionable to recount the events of that fateful night.

Quavo regarded the incident as the “most dangerous situation” they’ve been in to date.

“At that moment, you gotta react,” Takeoff said. “We was riding down a highway. …It threw me off a little bit.”

Quavo compared the sound of gunfire to fireworks.

“It sound like the Fourth of July,” he said. “Whole bunch of light look like paparazzi. …Lights flashing and a lot of popping and glass breaking. All you can do is hope you don’t get hit.”

Takeoff said the shooting was life altering.

“When stuff happen, it change you a little bit,” he said. “You just move different. We know to move different when you leave the club. We gotta look around, check around.”

Quavo added they no have extra securitiy.

“We move like Obama now,” he said.

Migos issued a statement following the near tragic incident via social media.

The three-man band posted a photo of themselves on IG. Offset motioned his trigger finger towards the camera, Quavo flexed his biceps and TakeOff had cigarette smoke billowing from his mouth.

The caption on the post read, “Lot of f*ck Niggas Tryna take my Life But I keep da thang on me so Yu Betta #THINKTWICE #YRN.”



Quavo issued a personal statement via Twitter, reading, “Wonder if im gone be on first 48??? #Nah.”



“Quavo Quavo Quavo Quavo Quavo IM GOOD!! #NL2,” he added.
