Montana of 300 Weighs In On Drake Using A Ghostwriter

The raging debate in the world of Hip Hop at the current moment is artists’ use of ghostwriters.

Montana of 300, the self-professed Rap God, was asked by his fans to weigh in on this pressing topic. The “Fire In The Church” rapper took to IG to weigh in on the issue.

His caption read, “My fans keep asking for my perspective on the whole thing with Drake not writing some of his material. #HeTooGreatforThat.”

Montana elaborated more on his thoughts in post writing ghostwriting is “Not what’s up.”

“If it was R&B then cool,” he continued. “That’s how R&B been since the Temptations when Smokey Robinson n Berry Gordy was writing hits for musicians n only used the musicians/artist for their ‘nice voice.’”

Hip Hop, he wrote, “is more mentally n lyrical so u will receive points from listeners and they have to respect you and respect your mind, not jus as a rapper but as the creator/inventor. Every time u say something slick or raw, your audience is taking mental notes n giving you points that YOU earned with/from them.”

“You can’t take the artist Picasso n tell him to sell you one of his paintings and then u find out somebody else painted it, that he never mentioned and tried to hide the fact,” he wrote. “Pppl gone be like ‘Aw Picasso be on that bs, tryna trick n*ggas n finesse us outta buying this sh*t he taking credit for.’ At the end of the day, it wasn’t actually Picasso’s work and he doesn’t deserve all the credit we been giving him. And now we know he can’t be trusted on cuz he tried to be slick. BUT, Drake can def rap on his own and doesn’t NEED a ghost writer. So idk why mfs like him n Kanye be doing sh*t like that. That takes away from an artist n makes them no so solid.”
