Mother of Youngest Colorado Shooting Victim Loses Another Child

Veronica Moser-Sullivan

A mother whose 6-year-old daughter was tragically killed in the deadly Aurora, CO theater shooting has lost another child, NBC reports.

The family of 25-year-old Ashley Moser released a statement Saturday revealing the young mother suffered a miscarriage.

“Tragically, the extreme trauma she sustained also caused a miscarriage,” the Moser family said in a statement obtained by CNN.

Moser is recovering from an additional surgery she underwent Saturday morning at the Aurora Medical Center, the statement also said.

The young mother’s “lifetime of care will be a long road,” according to the statement.

Funeral arrangements for Moser’s daughter Veronica Moser-Sullivan are still pending, according to The Washington Post.

James Holmes, 24, is the suspect in one of the country’s deadliest shootings since the 2009 Ft. Hood incident after opening fire on nearly 70 moviegoers in an Aurora movie theater. Holmes allegedly murdered 12 people and injured 58.
