Nelly Arrested For Marijuana, Crystal Meth and Guns Found On Tour Bus

Nelly is in a heap of trouble after a Tennessee state trooper pulled his bus over and found marijuana, crystal meth and guns. The Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland Security says it found a plastic bag containing five crystal-type rocks that tested positive for methamphetamine and small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, according to Fox 2 St. Louis. They additionally found a gold-plated 50-caliber Desert Eagle pistol.

Nelly, born Cornell Haynes, was charged with felony possession of drugs, simple possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to a Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland Security reported obtained by CNN.

Nelly and five other people were traveling to St. Louis when they were arrested in Putnam County for failure to display a U.S. Department of Transportation and International Fuel Tax Association sticker, according to People Magazine.

Nelly’s attorney Scott Rosenblum issued a statement on behalf of the “Country Grammar” rapper:

“Nelly was one of several individuals that was on a tour bus that was stopped and searched while traveling through Tennessee,” attorney Scott Rosenblum said. “In fact, there had been 15-20 people that had access to the bus prior to the stop. Allegedly, a small quantity of contraband (MDMA aka Molly or Ecstasy) was discovered during the routine search.”

The statement continued, “We are extremely confident that when the facts come out, Nelly will not be associated with the contraband that was allegedly discovered.”
