New Music: Lil Herb & Lil Durk- ‘On The Corner’

The corner has many meanings for Lil Herb. It was the corner where Lil Herb lost his close friend and also where he caught his first case.

But despite his mother’s pleas, Lil Herb can’t leave the corner.

Herb raps, “My mama told me ‘Baby, please stay off that corner.’ Yeah, it’s crazy. She knew why the police stayed on that corner/Cuz shortynem out there, they was toting that heat up there on that corner/Shortynem that’s out there, they gon blow for me that’s on that corner.”

It was Lamron that taught Durk the street trade. Durk gave listeners firsthand account of his corner, rapping, “Posted on Normal, you need lawyers/N****s know we finessin on Normal/Old n****s was cool, but they informers/And I caught my first case, n****s pointed/N****s snitchin, I (?) that’s pointless/And I lost some n****s to that corner/Working packs, I was hugging that corner/Jack boys tryna sneak on that corner/Hell nah, we ain’t going like that/Shoot outs every night, we strapped/Police clear us out we right back.”

This single appears on Herb’s solo debut mixtape “Welcome To Fazoland.”
