Omega Psi Phi Members Benjamin Crump & Bill Cosby Attend 50th Anniversary of 1963 Birmingham Church Bombing

Benjamin Crump and his Omega Psi Phi fraternity brother Bill Cosby were in attendance for the 50th anniversary of the 1963 Birmingham Church Bombing.

“Had a chance to speak with my friend and fraternity brother, @BillCosby today. Long live #OmegaPsiPhi

“@BillCosby sharing wisdom with me at the 50th Anniversry of 1963 Birmingham, AL church bombings,” Crump wrote on Twitter.

Famed actress Jasmine Guy was even in attendance.

Crump gained fame after representing Sybrina Fulton and Tracy Martin in the Trayvon Martin case.

The Birmingham Church Bombing sparked civil unrest during the racially oppressive era of the 1960s.

Klu Klux Klan members planted dynamite under the steps of the church, ultimately, killing four girls and injuring 22 people.

Many consider Martin’s death to be a continuation of inequality in America.

Martin was only 17 when he was tracked down by neighborhood watchman George Zimmerman after being deemed suspicious. He was later shot and killed after a confrontation with Zimmerman. He was unarmed.

Zimmerman was arrested and charged with murder 42 days after the Feb. 26 killing.

Zimmerman’s July 13 acquittal sparked nationwide protests on allegations of racial bias in the criminal justice system.
