Prince Von Says Debut EP ‘Self-Inflicted Wounds’ Will Contain No Drill Music

Prince Von is no newbie to Chiraq’s burgeoning Hip Hop scene. The South Side Chicago MC has been putting in work for quite some time. Von knows its time to hit the streets with his first-ever EP titled “Self-Inflicted Wounds.”

According to Von, the title of his project symbolizes “the dumb sh-t I did before ascending to this point in my career.”

“The overall project focus is about all the mistakes I made in trusting the wrong people,” he said.

Von is going a different route with this project, which he regards as his most personal to date. The EP, he said, contains zero drill music.

“…I left the drill shit alone to give my fans true music that will uplift them because they can relate to it unlike both previous mixtapes,” he said. “No drill or auto tune will be used. It will be nothing but authentic.

“The EP not only represents the effect from my talks with Def Jam but also a permanent change,” he continued. “I will not be making any more drill music.

“Only music to uplift people,” he added.

Von’s upcoming EP will lead up to his forthcoming debut mixtape “Only For My Kids.” Both projects will be free for listeners.

Von’s EP is slated for release in January 2015.
