Rhymefest Attributes Violence In Chicago to Lack of Love

Chicago artist Rhymefest says the violence in Chicago Stems from lack of love, according to “Murder to Excellence: Life & Hip Hop in Chicago” documentary.

The “blue-collar” Chicago emcee proclaims many residents have become desensitized to violence.

“You gonna see a lot of people with a lack of love in their life. That attitude of desensitization to violence. The desensitization to solution,” he said.

Love, he said, is a real thing.

“Love is not some soft thing. Love makes you feel remorse. Love makes you feel the need to help somebody else,” he said. “Love makes you see more than money. Love makes you connect as a family member. The shorties I work with, more than anything they need love.”
