Rick Ross Leaves Jail After Posting $2 Million Bond; Agrees To Ankle Monitoring

Rick Ross is now a free man after posting $2 million bond, Billboard reports. Rick Ross was arrested last week after him and his bodyguard allegedly pistol-whipped and kidnapped a grounds keeper.

A Georgia judge initially denied Ross’ request for bond until the rapper said he’s put up his home. Ross pulled $1 million equity from boxer Evander Holyfield’s former estate he bought last year that’s valued at more than $5 million. He reportedly got the remainder from a $500,000 corporate surety bond from a bond bailsman and threw in $500,000 cash.

Ross’ attorney reportedly said he would forfeit the entire Holyfield mansion, if the rapper does anything to obstruct justice or intimidate any witness.

U.S. Marshals’ Fugitive Task Force picked up Ross at his Fayette County, GA residence the morning of Wednesday, June 24, according to Billboard. He was subsequently charged with kidnapping, aggravated assault and aggravated battery charges. Bodyguard Nadrian Lateef James, 42, faced the same charges.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports the 39-year-old rapper was having work done on his home when he allegedly got into a fight with one of the workers and pistol-whipped that person.

Ross was arrested June 10 on a traffic violation and misdemeanor possession of marijuana.
