The Hip Hop and R&B community has been buzzing after an open letter written by Frank Ocean on Tumblr sent social media into a frenzy.
The “Thinking Bout You” singer revealed on Independence Day that his first love was a man. But the “recent” revelation may have simply been old news.
Ocean performed songs from his upcoming debut album “Channel Orange” in April. One of his songs “Forest Gump” contains lyrics of the singer professing his love for men.
On the song, he sings, “My fingertips and my lips, they burn from the cigarettes, Forrest Gump/You run my mind, boy/ Running ’round my mind, boy/ Forrest Gump. I remember you/ This is love, know it’s true/ I won’t forget you.”
Will Ocean be successful penning love songs for the same sex? Only time will tell.

Nobody knew who he was until wednesday. If usher sang the song then it would have been the story of every blog. This guy is gay, which was purpose in getting signed. The media is twisting it like he’s brave. No, he’s just another artist trying to strike it rich.
