Slim Jesus Upset By Capo’s Murder and Lil Jay Going To Jail For Murder

Chicago proved to the world that it could produce some of Hip Hop’s most talented artists. But the streets play the villain in the Windy City’s tragic tale. The City continues to lose some of its most talented artists and it doesn’t appear to be ending any time soon.

Slim Jesus is highly influenced by Chicago’s drill scene. This was evident in his viral “Drill Time” music video.

In an interview with VladTV, Slim pointed out that two of the artists he was most influenced by are Capo of Chief Keef’s Glo Gang and Lil Jay.

But Slim is upset that Capo and Lil Jay met unfortunate fates.

“I’ve had artists that I f****d with and that I want to hear music from either A- die- or B- end up in jail over murder charge type s**t,” he said. “It sucks to lose artists like that.

“…Capo was a big one. Him dying, Lil Jay getting locked up,” he continued. “I rocked with his music. They were my main two. That sucked for me. Both of them.”

Cap was shot and killed in South Side Chicago the afternoon of Saturday, July 11. Capo was taken to the hospital where he later died. He was 22.

Lil Jay is currently fighting for his life after he was charged with murder in May. The FBG Clout Boy is being held without bail after his associate, Filmon N. Rezene, 25, died from injuries sustained in the shootout, according to the Chicago Sun-Times. Lil Jay, 21, was charged in Rezene’s death along with Rakeem ‘Butta’ Wilton, 20; Roshinda Young, 22; Monique Lane-Calhoun, 25; and Brittany Dupree, 20.

Rezene appeared in Jay’s “Faneto (GMix)” music video.

Rezene was shot in self-defense following an argument with a 22-year-old man in Calumet City. Lil Jay, Rezene and the group allegedly went to purchase marijuana from the 22-year-old man, but an argument ultimately erupted. The group left and returned with a firearm provided by Rezene’s girlfriend Young.

The 22-year-old was shot four times but was also armed and fired back at Rezene, who was struck “several” times, prosecutors told the Sun-Times.

Lil Jay, Young, Lane-Calhoun and Butta were arrested at the scene after police spoke with the 22-year-old victim and witnesses. Police later arrested Dupree after spotting her leaving Lil Jay’s apartment with a bag of handguns, including two used in the shooting.

Rezene died May 15 from his injuries in Stroger Hospital.

Audio of Lil Jay surfaced onto the net Friday requesting fans donate him $100,000 via his GoFundMe account.

“I’m innocent,” he said. “I need yall to help me raise $100,000, so I can be free. Once I’m free, you’ll have seven free concerts, giving out free food and drinks and I’m autographing t-shirts.”
