Teen Murdered Blocks Away From President Obama’s South Side Chicago Home



Tragedy struck Chicago’s Kenwood community Monday night after a 17-year-old boy was murdered after he was shot in the chest, according to the Chicago Tribune.

The shooting reportedly occurred just blocks away from President Barack Obama’s South Side Chicago home.

Michael Patton and a 15-year-old acquaintance were standing outside around 10:40 p.m. during stormy weather when a gunman inside a black van pulled up and opened fire, according to DNAinfo.

The 15-year-old boy was shot in the arm and was later transported to the University of Chicago’s Comer’s Hospital. Patton died at the scene as paramedics arrived a half hour later.

Police have no one in custody for the shooting.
