Think Like a Man, a new film based on the book “Think Like a Man, Act Like a Woman,” written by Steve Harvey is coming to theatres Friday, April 20. Harvey, 55, wrote the widely popular book, which has spent 64 weeks on the New York Times bestseller list.
Harvey told The Washington Post his new film “plays to what men think is funny” or what a “woman thinks that men think is funny.”
The film, he said, is “vulnerable, smart and, surprisingly, loving.”
Michael Ealy made an appearance at Howard University to promote the latest black comedy.
Throughout the course of my career, he said, I learned it’s not the “most serious film “you do that will have “impact.”
“This movie is plain and simple a movie I am proud of,” he said. “This is a timeless piece people will be talking about in 10 years.”
Harvey, a syndicated radio host, told The Washington Post his new film showed women “a lot of the power they possess.”
At the end of the day, he said, every man knows “you gotta have one of him to complete the journey.”
Ealy told the audience in the Howard University press conference that they will be “vested into each and every one” of the couple in the film.
Through this film, Ealy said, he found it’s “fun to fall in love.”
“It’s terrifying, risky and all of that,” he said. “But that’s part of the reason why it’s fun.”
