Timbaland Wasn’t Excited About Music Until He Met Tink, Says She Will ‘Change Culture’

Timbaland has longed for that old thing back. That old thing is the talented pool of artists he built up in the 90s that included the late Aaliyah, Ginuwine, Missy Elliot, Playa and Magoo, to name a few.

Timbaland believes he’s found that old thing in 18-year-old R&B/Hip Hop artist Tink.

Timbaland presented Tink as his new artist at his Mosley Music Group event Thursday at the Up & Down nightclub in New York City.

“I wasn’t excited about music until I met these two young ladies,” he said. “To make me great I need greatness around me. What I have experienced with these two young ladies is like life repeating itself, like history repeating itself.

“This young lady that’s about to come up is about to change culture,” he continued. “You remember when Puff got Biggie Smalls? … We talking about my little Tinker Bell.”

Artists under MMG include One Republic, Keri Hilson, ReKapse and V. Bozeman, to name a few.

Tink is a dual threat as a singer and rapper. These talents may one day make her one of the most sought after artists in the industry.

But In Timbaland’s eyes, she is already a star.

Timbaland notably took the Chi Town songstress under his wing earlier this year and will be producing her debut album.

Tim had nothing but great things to say about the budding artist in an IG video.

“You’re a A-lister already to me,” he said. “That’s how I’m treating you. I’m treating you like you’re already a Beyonce… Foxy Brown, Lil Kim.

“…Tink, baby. The future,” he added.

It was in late March when Tink linked up with the super producer in Los Angeles.

A photo surfaced of the two on her IG account.

“Came down to LA to have a face to face with Timbaland. Blessed b #History,” the caption on the post read.

It didn’t long after that meeting for Tink to give fans a taste of what they can expect from her work with Tim.

Tink provided fans a snippet of her Timbaland-produced track “Dinero” in early April.

Tink would later reveal Timbaland as the production talent behind debut LP

“Next week I will be in Miami working on my debut album produced by Timbaland. Great year already,” she wrote.
