Twista, Dlow, Stunt Taylor and Steve of Exclusive773 Join ‘Voice Of The Streets’ To End Violence In Chiraq

Twista announced he is joining with his manager Rawle Stewart alongside fellow artists Dlow and Stunt Taylor to end violence in Chicago through the “Voice of the Streets” campaign.

The artists held a meeting in Chicago’s Greater Grand Crossing neighborhood Wednesday to discuss nonviolent solution to a room of 55 people.

Stewart told Fox 32 his motivation to begin the campaign was sparked by the death of Lil Durk’s manager and friend OTF Chino.

“Just this past year I’ve had three people that I’ve known, that’s close to me, pass away due to violence,” Stewart told Fox 32. “You know someone once told me music is God’s way of talking to his people and I just think we need to figure a way to use the music and the people behind it to point us in the right direction.”

Twista has long been an advocate for nonviolence in his hometown.

“Anytime a person has a positive spark or idea in his head to do something stop something that’s bad happening, especially kids getting killed in the streets, people shooting and things like that, anything to stop something like that is a good time,” the “Slow Jamz” rapper told Fox.

Dlow has also been working in his community to end violence long before Stewart’s campaign.

“I hope everybody can stop having so much hatred, so mad at each other, I just hope everybody can be a family and we can really change Chiraq back to Chicago,” he said.

The artists are planning another meeting in Chicago’s South Shore neighborhood. The date and time has not yet been scheduled.
