Tyga’s ‘The Gold Album’ Sells Only 2,200 Copies In Opening Week

Tyga posted disappointed numbers for his latest project “The Gold Album.” Tyga’s project has some ways to go before being certified gold after selling only 2,200 copies in its opening week.

The Cash Money rapper surprised fans with a Spotify stream and also made it available on iTunes.

Tyga soon became the laughing stock of social media after his numbers were revealed. Tyga took to Twitter to defend himself and sales.

“Yall mfs is funny. I put my album out myself for free on spotify, soundcloud, YouTube to stream.

“Didn’t plan on selling it Kuz of label problems. It’s a dope album. Got a lot of great feedback and millions of streams,” he wrote on Twitter.

Tyga’s project garnered 4 million streams.

Tyga’s sales were even lower than Troy Ave who sold only 4,373 copies in his opening week.
