Usher and T.I. Eat Good At Harold’s Chicken and Speak At 100K Opportunities Initiative In Chicago

Usher and T.I. made their way to the Chi to fill up on some Harold’s Chicken and support a good cause for the city’s youths.

Usher took to IG to post a photo of himself stopping by Harold’s Chicken at 914 W. 87th St. In Auburn Gresham.

Usher and T.I. were in the Windy City for a more important reason. The two artists spoke at the launch event for 100k Opportunities Initiative, a coalition of U.S. companies that seek to hire at least 100,000 young people by 2018, according to DNAinfo.com.

“Be prepared for success,” Usher told a packed room. “It’s all a mental process. It’s where you start. You gotta start somewhere. You start in your mind.”

Common and Vic Mensa were also guest speakers at the event.

The event reportedly paired young Chicagoans with job opportunities. The initiative’s “goal is to create the nation’s largest employer-led private sector coalition focused on helping young people build skills and attain credentials, while connecting them to employment,” according to 100kopportunities.org.

The coalition is committed to engaging at least 100,000 underrepresented young people, ages 16 to 24, by 2018 through apprenticeships, internships, and both part-time and full time-time jobs.

Some of the coalition’s partners include Pizza Hut, Walmart, FedEx, Nordstrom and more.
