Young Chop Speaks On Beef with Kanye West Over ‘I Don’t Like (Remix)’

Young Chop was the talk of the Hip Hop sphere after taking to social media to criticize fellow Chi Town entertainer Kanye West. Chop believes the “Yeezus” rapper is exploiting Chicago talent.

Chop sat down with DJ Booth to further elaborate on comments made last week.

Young Chop made a point of saying that him and Chief Keef didn’t need a co-sign from Kanye West because they’ve already achieved stardom with “I Don’t Like.” Chop said Kanye came into the picture by requesting beats from him. But Ye had other plans in mind after asking Chop if he could remix their viral hit record.

Chop said he was initially cool with Ye hopping on the record and opened up some verses for him.

“People don’t even know the story,” he said. “He came and got beats. He wanted beats and he wanted that sound. …He ain’t come before me. He didn’t come and help me. He seen what I was doing.”

Chop said Ye observed the movement he put together for the new Chicago movement.

Chop said he was upset with Kanye adding Chief Keef as a guest feature in the credits of the “I Don’t Like (Remix).”

Chop said he was also upset that Kanye didn’t let him hear the record before it dropped. Chop had to hear it on the radio.

Chop was at the Atlanta Music Festival & Conference when he took to IG to express himself on the matter in a series of posts. He captioned his rant, “The Truth.”

Chop told followers there was a “a lot of f**k s**t going on.” Chop said there was an agenda against him because people were “putting lies” on him.

Chop said he’s not bothered because G-d got him.

“This a message to all the Chicago artists, producers and everything,” he said. “Don’t go against me. I’m here to help you motherf*****s. It’s them old n****s geeking yall heads up. Then these n****s be tricking yall minds signing yall to these $10,000 deals cause yall ain’t got no money.”

Chop said Ye was exploiting Chicago artists.

“And the n***a Kanye don’t make it no better,” Chop continued. “He right along with the s**ts… use you, try to soak up everything n****s know, get you to write songs for him. And then don’t call you after that. For instance, like ‘Don’t Like’ and my boy Vic Mensa, they gone make it seem like he put them on. And he really f*****g didn’t. N****s started from the bottom.”

Young Chop has long been vocal about Ye remixing his “I Don’t Like.”

“How a ni**a going take my beat #u kids don’t no shit about this music shit smfh #i don’t like hahahahahahahahaha” he wrote on Twitter in 2013 before quickly deleting it.

In an interview with Hood Supa Star, Young Chop expressed his displeasure with Kanye, saying, “I’m mad as f*ck for the simple fact they did not ask me to change up sh*t in my beat. They don’t have no files to none of my sh*t, so how the f*ck did they add a melody over the instrumental. These motherf*ckas is playing me and I don’t give two f*cks. I will sue the sh*t out of Kanye West. He need to call my phone right now before I snap.”

In an interview with HipHop DX, Young Chop said he doesn’t care about Kanye West’s celebrity status.

“I don’t care! I’m building my own brand. Why would I go off his brand? I didn’t ask him to get on no songs, none of that,” he said. “He wanted to get on it. So people need to fall back and mind they business. Like the critics, and everybody that’s hatin’—the supporters of Kanye West, basically.”
