YungJdbeatzz Talks Production Behind Chief Keef’s Upcoming ‘Bang 3’ Single ‘True’



YungJdbeatzz is a native of the Dirty South, but his production has been used by many artists of different regions. The Athens, GA native’s beats have even hit the Hip Hop scene in Chiraq. Yung JD has collaborated with some of the Chi’s hottest talent, including Swagg Dinero, Bo Deal and Glo Gang’s BallOut. JD regards the latter artist’s single “Fake” as his favorite production to date. Yung JD’s beats have even reached the ears of Chief Keef. JD lent his production talents on Sosa’s single “True,” which is slated to appear on the Glo Gang frontman’s much-anticipated project “Bang 3.”

We caught up with Yung JD to learn more about his production skills and get the “True” scoop on Sosa’s upcoming single. – – Alphalpha

How did you get your start in producing?

“Bout two years ago I started producing… well I’ll say three and just kept going. Still got a lot of sh-t to learn though.

How would you describe your production style?

Trap/Hip-Hop/Radio-type sh-t. I mostly like Trap though.

What inspires your production?

I just wanna be making beats for everybody, but I see a lot of producers grinding. I respect that and makes me go harder.

Who are your favorite artists?

The whole GBE. Really, I don’t listen to music I’m tryna get on. Don’t got time to listen to no artist unless you on my beat (Laughs).

Who did you listening to growing up?

Hot Boys, T.I., Tupac… sh-t a lot of shit… don’t remember all they names.

Who are your favorite producers?

I f-ck with upcoming producers like Dirty Vans, OTWG Beats, Shakir Based… the whole Glo Gang Productions. I rock wit them. Young chop, that’s bout it

How did you come to link up with Chiraq artists? What are your thoughts on the Chicago music scene?

I first started f-cking with @1Muhlah on Doe Boy label… #FreeDoeBoy… me and Muhlah got a lot of sh-t. We got some new coming soon… look out for that. But I f-ck with Chicago artists. I like they rap style. My thoughts on Chicago music scene, I mean it’s lot of people rapping. You gotta just stay consistent.

How did you come to collaborate with Chief Keef and BallOut of Glo Gang?

Well, the first couple beats I sent Chief bout a year ago. He was like, “you #TT” (Too Turnt). I was like that’s wassup bro. We got a lot of shit, not just “True.” I recently ask Chief to put me on “Glo Gang Productions,” so I’m going hard now man. … BallOut, I did a track with bout two years ago called “Fake” on “From The Streets.” It was a big confusion over the beat, but I’m not go get into all that.

Tell me about the production on Chief Keef’s upcoming single “True.”

I mean that sh-t finna be turnt… sh-t go hard… some radio type sh-t. I think everybody go like it except the haters (Laughs).

Have you heard the final track? What are your thoughts?

Yes, me and Chief just starting. We go have a lot of sh-t bro #Glo.

Do you have any upcoming work with Chief Keef?

Yes, a lot of sh-t bro!

Do you have any upcoming collaborations with Chicago artists?

Yes, got some sh-t with Chief’s artist [Justo], 1muhlah… got some with a lot of n-ggaz bro.

Where do you see your craft in five years?

Just gotta wait and see, but I think big screens… that’s what I’m aiming for bro.
