A man attempted to throw a Molotov cocktail at Portland police officers Saturday night, but it backfired, no pun intended.

Police declared a riot after peaceful protests in Ventura Park turned violent. This came after a man set himself on fire with a Molotov cocktail intended for police officers.

More than 50 people were arrested last night.
