Chief Keef is calling for the freedom of his Black Disciple protégé Cdai. Cdai, a Savage Squad Records artist, was charged with first-degree murder in connection with the Feb. 22 shooting death of dispatch driver Javan Boyd.
Sosa posted Cdai’s mugshot to his IG account with a caption, reading, “I know he’s Thinking Sosa don’t be talking for sh*t! Free my shordy 22.”
Cdai made a guest feature on Chief Keef’s “Almighty So” mixtape on single “Sucka.”
Cdai, born Courtney Ealy, was ordered held without bail Tuesday afternoon in Cook County Violence Court, according to the Chicago Tribune.
Cdai’s alleged accomplice RondoNumbaNine, born Clint Massey, was charged with first-degree murder in the Feb. 22 fatal shooting of Boyd. He is being held in lieu of $2 million bail.
Boyd, 28, was awaiting a fare before his tragic death.
Prosecutors allege Rondo and Cdai were part of a three-car entourage riding through enemy territory looking for revenge due to an earlier altercation with an unnamed party, according to the Chicago Tribune.
Rondo and Cdai allegedly sighted Boyd sitting in his vehicle and pulled their vehicle alongside his.
The two 600 rappers allegedly went to Boyd’s passenger door and asked if he was from the neighborhood. When Boyd replied he was from the neighborhood, Rondo and Cdai opened the passenger door and opened fire, according to the Tribune.
Boyd was reportedly shot seven times in all, including, twice in the back and three times in the leg, according to the Sun Times.
Rondo and Cdai allegedly rushed back to their vehicle and all three vehicles fled the scene.
Prosecutors allege Cdai told others about his role in the shooting. Witnesses, according to the Tribune, also identified him as the second shooter.
Another piece of crucial evidence was Cdai’s cell phone being left outside of Boyd’s vehicle. Furthermore, the “Bail Out” rapper’s fingerprints were allegedly found on the vehicle.
Rondo’s fingerprints were also allegedly found on the cab, according to the Tribune.
A portion of the crime was caught on surveillance camera, according to the Sun-Times.
Boyd left behind a fiancé and an 11-year-old daughter.
