King Boom, an aspiring artist hailing from South Side Chicago, was killed in what authorities are calling an accidental shooting Friday night, according to DNAinfo.com
Boom, born David Kennedy, was reportedly found unresponsive and later declared dead after suffering a gunshot wound to the head.
Paris D. Walker-Rush, 25, was arrested and charged with involuntary manslaughter for Boom’s shooting death. He was additionally charged with unlawful use of a weapon by a felon.
Boom was perfecting his craft as an MC on Chiraq’s burgeoning Hip Hop scene. He was passionate about his music and recently dropped his debut mixtape project “War In Chiraq.”

“My music steady getting better. This next tape Finna go krazy,” he wrote just days before his death.
Boom even sought Kollege Kidd to promote his music days before his tragic death.
A few of Boom’s recorded tracks include “Shortys,” “Im In It,” “Better Life,” “Hot N*gga” Freestyle and “Caution.”
Boom’s goal was to touch everyone with his music.
I’m tryna reach every n-gga in Chicago that’s going through the same sh-t I’m going through,” he said. “Same n-gga that grew up in the street. Same n-gga that went through that street life. Same n-gga that lost some n-ggas to the sh-t. Same n-gga that went and got locked up. Same n-gga that had to sell that bag to get that food on the table.Same n-gga that can relate and to the motherf-ckers that don’t know what’s going on. The motherf-ckers that’s out in the burbs, walk into my world. Listen to my sh-t. I’m tryna touch everybody.”
Family and friends were deeply distraught by Boom’s passing and took to social media to express their sorrow and condolences:
