Birdman has confirmed Rich Homie Quan is no longer Rich Gang. Birdman is currently working on a sequel “Rich Gang” project without the assistance of Quan. Bird announced him and Young Thug have already started recording during appearance on Travis Scott’s Beats 1 radio show .WAV.
“Me and Thug working on a part two right now,” Birdman told Scott. “That’s what we doing right now, so we looking to drop it probably whenever we say go. But we got a good, solid 10-12 [songs] that we really, really like. Part two gon be me and him.”
Thugger announced Quan’s departure from the crew during an interview with All Hip Hop.
“He had to focus on his career,” Young Thug said. “It’s something that he had to do. He ain’t have to do it, but he did it. I understand why he did it.”
Thug was captured on footage in March 2015 referring to Quan as “B*tch Homie Quan” during a concert performance.
Thug would later take to IG to clarify he wasn’t beefing with Quan.
“IM NOT BEEFIN WITH RHQ IDIOTS!!!!!!” a message he posted onto IG.
Quan recently appeared on ESPN’s Highly Questionable to say he was “hurt” by Thug’s remarks.
“My first reaction was ‘My brother called me B*tch Homie Quan?’ I took my glasses off because – not to get in my feelings – it hurt,” he said. “I would never disrespect you when he have each other number. It’s certain stuff you do and certain stuff you don’t do. It’s a certain way you do things. That’s not one of the ways I would’ve done it.”
