Authorities are searching for a connection between the shooting death of a 26-year-old member of the Black Disciples street gang and the tragic death of slain rapper Lil’ JoJo.
Keith Bonds, known as “KeKe,” was murdered on a Sept. 17 afternoon as he stood near a tree, the Chicago Sun-Times reports.
Authorities are reportedly investigatng whether Bonds’ death was in retaliation for the Sept. 4 killing of 18-year-old Lil’ JoJo, whose real name is Joseph Coleman.
Coleman was murdered in a hail of gunfire in a drive-by shooting as he was riding on the back pegs of a friend’s bike. Authorities believe members of the Black Disciples street gang are responsible for his death. His murder remains unsolved.
Authorities are investigating whether popular rapper Chief Keef and associate Lil’ Reese are linked to the crime. Bonds reportedly wasn’t associated with Keef, but may have been targeted because he was a Black Disciple, sources told the Sun-Times.
Coleman got into a war of words with Lil’ Reese hours before his death. Coleman confronted the rapper in a video he posted on YouTube and mocked the rapper on Twitter.
Chief Keef, laughed at news of Coleman’s death on his Twitter account. An insensitive tweet written following the death insinuates the rapper may have ordered the hit.
“hahahahahhahahahahahahahaahhAAHAHAHAHA #RichNi**aShit,” Keef wrote. “Its Sad Cuz Dat N***a Jojo Wanted To Be Jus Like Us #LMAO.”
Lil’ Reese echoed similar sentiment.
“Damn I just wke up 2da jojo shit f*ck Em,” wrote Lil’ Reese.
