Slain Chicago rapper Lil JoJo, whose real name is Joseph Coleman, openly professed his affiliation to the street gang Brick Squad, a faction of the gangster disciples. Coleman’s rap career grew in popularity upon releasing the highly controversial song “3HunnaK.” Sadly, this song is what led to his early demise.
Coleman was murdered in a hail of gunfire in a drive-by shooting as he rode on the back pegs of a friend’s bike. The Black Disciples street gang is suspected in the murder.
Members of JoJo’s gang Brick Squad held a party and honored their fallen friend by rapping a few of his songs, including “3HunnaK.”
This same song was recited by hundreds of people at Coleman’s funeral.
The raises the question: If Coleman were alive would he want others rapping the same song that led to his demise? The tragedy of this situation is that more young men affiliated with the BDK movement will be murdered due to content of this song.
Should Brick Squad retire “3HunnaK,” so Coleman’s soul may truly rest in peace? Sound off below.
