Britney Spears is headed back to a television set near you. The former pop superstar is close to closing a deal with the “The X-Factor,” according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The popular Fox show is in need of judges after firing Paula Abdul and Nicole Scherzinger. If Spears is selected, it will leave the search down to one.

Janet Jackson was rumored to be onboard, but reportedly turned the position down. Another possible candidate is LeAnn Rimes, who also expressed interest.

Spears has sold over 100 million albums worldwide. According to the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), she is the eighth top-selling female artist in the United States, with 33 million certified albums.
