A father and son were fatally shot in an apartment building in East Flatbush, Brooklyn after noise complaint by neighbor. The downstairs neighbor banged on the ceiling to express his frustration with the noise.

He soon went upstairs armed to confront his neighbors. The father of the apartment, 47-year-old Bladimy Mathurin, exited the apartment and confronted the neighbor with a pair of scissors. When the man’s partner attempted to deescalate the altercation, the neighbor pulled out a gun and shot Bladimy in the back. He also shot Bladimy’s 27-year-old son Chinwai Mode.
