A 16-year-old has been indentified as the culprit who slammed an elderly woman and threw her into a pool this past weekend. The boy turned himself into Broward Sheriff’s Office Monday around 5 p.m., and was charged with one count of battery on a person 65 years of age or older, NBC 6 reports. Authorities punished the teen by giving him 21 days in juvenile detention.
The boy is reported to have owned up to his actions, saying, “I messed up and I have to own up to it.”
A witness who attended the party told NBC 6 the boy’s intentions wasn’t to slam the woman on the ground.
“He picked her up below the butt and that’s when he slipped and fell,” the girl said. “We started to scream when she fell cause we thought she had hurt something. Everyone started running after that cause we all got scared.”
