Chief Keef’s Halloween concert at the Armory in Rochester, New York has been cancelled, News10NBC reports. Sosa’s much-anticipated concert was scheduled to take place Saturday, Oct. 31.
Owner Scott Donaldson told the news station the show was cancelled because Sosa couldn’t come up with the event insurance.
Chief Keef’s show caused concern amongst city residents, according to rochesterfirst.com. The armory has been plagued with violence in the past.
Rochester residents John Shah and Larry King spoke out against Sosa’s show.
“It’s a perfect storm that can lead to negative things,” Shah told rochesterfirst.com. “The Armory is a venue that has a track record of being unsafe in the surrounding area and in venue for shows of this genre. I’m kind of fed up, I’m fed up with people being reactive to all the violence, shootings and stabbings in the city. Here is an opportunity for us to be proactive, I’d love to be proven wrong and have no violence happen but at the same time if I have these concerns and people I talk to have these concerns and we don’t say anything about it what does that say about us?”
King said, “Chief Keef’s rap is the most violent rap I have ever heard so I don’t think that mixed with him coming to the city where there is already a crime issue makes sense especially on Halloween night.”
Chief Keef was banned from performing at several concerts in the past.
Chief Keef’s “Bang 3 Hologram Fest” concert in Los Angeles was cancelled because of a dispute with the scheduled venue, the Wrap reports. A dispute between Chief Keef and the Fonda Theatre in Hollywood reportedly led to Sosa’s event being moved to the parking lot next to theater.
A physical altercation is alleged to have occurred between a member of Sosa’s camp and a theatre staff member during a Sept. 16 rehearsal. Chief Keef filed an LAPD complaint against the theater staff member.
Sosa didn’t bite his tongue when making his feelings known about the theater by dissing late actor Henry Fonda and his daughter Academy Award-winning 77-year-old actress Jane Fonda.
“F**k Henry Fonda and f**k jane Fonda too,” Sosa wrote on Twitter.
"fuck Henry Fonda and fuck jane Fonda too"

Grant Zimmerman, an A&R at FilmOn TV, told HipHopDX his account of the fight that occurred.
“Security tried to attack a staff member for drinking the Fonda’s water during an official walk-through for the event,” Zimmerman said. “Unfortunately the Fondas tried to stop us from throwing an amazing event due to a lack of professionalism on their end, but the show will go on.”
The event was set to celebrate the release of Sosa’s “Bang 3 (Pt. 2)” project.
FilmOn Ceo Alki David was upset with the cancellation.
“AEG and the Fonda Theater have continued the shameful cycle of blaming hip hop and the artistic expression of urban youth for their own corporate malfeasance,” said David, according to Rap-Up. “This follows Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel’s attempts to silence Keef and scapegoat him for his city’s complete inability to solve the war-zone like crisis on the South Side, and on the Madison Square Garden Company’s bumbling attempt to back out of a tri-city peace concert to benefit the family of a murdered baby.”
Sosa first appeared in hologram Saturday, July 25 at Craze Fest at the Pavilion at Wolf Lake in Hammond, IN to push his “Stop The Violence” and “Put The Guns Down” campaign and raise money for baby Dillan Harris. Harris was killed Saturday, June 11 when his stroller was struck by car driven by gunmen suspected of fatally shooting Capo.
“Stop the violence,” he said before beginning his performance. “Stop the killing. Stop the nonsense. Let the kids grow up.”
But Sosa’s full performance never transpired after Hammond police shut down Craze Fest at the Pavilion at Wolf Lake.
Sosa didn’t hold his tongue when he lashed out against Mayor Rahm Emanuel on Twitter for having his performance canceled.
“Call Mayor of Chicago @rahemanuel 312-744-5000 and tell him to stay the f*ck off the people’s music #StopTheViolenceNow
“I think I’m the Biggest Capper of all time!!!!!!!” he wrote.
GloHive heeded Sosa’s call and subsequently trolled the mayor for canceling the concert.
Hammond Police Lt. Patrick Vicari told the Chicago Sun Times promoters said Chief Keef would not appear by Hologram.
“Even though I was told no Chief Keef by the promoters, they tried it anyway, so we shut it down. We turned the power off, we’re closing the park down,” Vicari reportedly said.
“Police stopped the show,” said Owen Phillips, spokesman for concert organizer HologramUSA, in an emailed statement to the Sun Times. “20 cops and a bulldozer to silence a hologram.”
