Chiraq rapper Bravo of GMEBE was injured in a drive-by shooting Tuesday night that killed two friends in South Side Chicago.
Bravo, 16, was taken to the hospital with gunshot wounds to his hand and foot, but is expected to recover.
Sakinah Reed, 17, was shot in the chest, and Dontay Parker, 16, was shot in the head. The two teens were pronounced dead at Advocate Christ Medical Center.
Deon Cavin, Sakinah’s friend, told ABC 7 Chicago his friend was an innocent bystander.
“Sakinah loves to have fun. She’s a people person. She wasn’t really into it with anybody. She didn’t have any enemies. No people were after her or anything like that.”
Ladona Richmond, Sakinah’s neighbor, recalled the young girl as being sweet.
“She was real, real sweet. She didn’t bother nobody, didn’t do nothing to nobody,” Ms. Richmond said. “She called me ‘mama.’ She had respect for everybody. She played basketball. She played with my grandkids. She was sweet.”
Bravo is an up and coming rapper who hails from Over East. He has released numerous singles, including “Rainy Dayz,” “Real Sh*t,” “Kill Or Killed,” “Obstacles” and more.
Friends and family took to social media to express a range of emotions that included shock and sadness over the sudden deaths of Sakinah and Dontay:
